OUR LADY OF PEACE
What would black history month be like, if I did not take the time to speak about this wonderful individual, our one and only First Lady, Her Excellency Rachel Chebet Ruto, a peaceable, sober, well-grounded, rock-steady, soft spoken, good-mannered, and a beautiful soul. But before some of you come at me with that religious banter, having issues with the title of this literary piece, and catching feelings without a reason, I will have you know that being a peaceful individual is not a trait suited for nosey people, and especially you who has a toxic problem, always having something to say, when no one solicited for your petty opinions, always fault in things that do not concern you at all. Therefore, I would like to kindly urge you to find something useful to do with your time. Go out there and eat, pray, love, or sleep but please, exit the comment section and leave us alone.
Now back to our beloved Mama Rachel, who is that calm stream of cool
natural waters, running smoothly through blue ridge mountains, smooth and
sweet, crystal clear, cold as ice, with healing qualities that make one a
fountain of youth. It is therefore no wonder that her Excellency seem to be aging
backwards, being in her silver years. But I guess when you are that calm and
collected, nothing or no one can knock you down and out of your peaceful throne.
That goes to show just how important it is for us ladies, to follow by example,
in enrolling and attending some of these sensitivity training classes, whereby
we are taught on how to become poised and balanced, taming the ratchet
behaviour, and finding our quiet centre.
Her Excellency Mama Rachel, is married to a sitting president,
looking all peaceful and with a natural glow. I am sure that being a first lady
is not an easy role to play, as it must be time-consuming, with all that run-around,
up and down, attending state functions almost every waking minute of the day, with
a smile on your face. Exactly how do you do it Madam Rachel? How do you manage
to appear in public everyday, all glammed up, and looking like a red rose
flower?
A regular girl like me would not last an hour, if I was forced to
attend those everlasting public functions and ceremonies that run throughout
the day. I will be in need of at least five bathroom breaks, two tea breaks,
and a very long lunch break, just so that I may be able to follow the
proceedings, without having to faint, or at least pretend to be feeling faint,
so that the organizers may either escort me outside for a medical emergency, or
better yet, bum rush the function, for my sake.
But not Madam Rachel. She just magically seats in those proceedings,
nodding and smiling through and through, up until the end, and thereafter, lingers
for a few more minutes, to pose for photos, cut through a multitude of
ceremonial ribbons, stands in tow be introduced to local and foreign dignitaries,
shakes hands with many an everyday people, before she can exit the function, to
proceed to another. Well, I guess she does it well, for she has accepted and
fully stepped into the role of being a first lady.
Another thing I love about Her Excellency, is how well she rocks the
short hair cut. I mean, she looks like a million bob, with that super trim that
makes her look more youthful, sleek, and edgy. But seriously, it is like the
first ladies of the world met up somewhere, sat down, and made a decision to
wear short bobs and weaves, for it’s a stylish pandemic the world over. Which
reminds me, while I have been out here investing in these Brazilian weaves
since 2010, and on top of it, praying three times a day, facing Mt. Kenya for
good luck and prosperity. But it all turned out to be wishful thinking, since I
have not been able to bag even a local chief to save my life.
Meanwhile, Her Excellency Madam Rachel, looking all fly and staying sheek
with that stupendous neat-shaved kink, bossing alongside her loving husband,
who happens to be a sitting president. It is for this reason that I have made a
solid decision, to seek appointment with the local barber in my neighbourhood,
so that I may emulate Her Excellency Madam Rachel, by acquiring a super cut
just like hers. Perhaps then God will see my repentance and also smile at me.
Nevertheless, I must say that your cool and calm nature, makes our
homeland all the more peaceful. You must not know it but it is a blessing for
us all to have such a beautiful soul like yours be on the nation’s throne, for
we know that we will be safe and secure with a prayer warrior such as yourself.
Do not allow anybody tell you anything different from this here. You were meant
to be where you are now Madam Rachel, and know this too, that the sky is not
your limit but you are your own limit. Therefore, decide now where and how far
you are willing to go, by the grace of God, you will get to your desired
destination.
Here is to you, Your Excellency Madam Rachel Chebet Ruto; as you age
like fine wine, as you shine like moonlight through the pine, may peace be upon
your mind, and may hope be your guide.
